Barbara Goza Stancil

Barbara was born to the late Marion Andrew Goza and Rose Lee Goza on May 22, 1936 in Fort Payne, Alabama. She was a homemaker who loved caring for her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, John Harold Stancil.

Survivors include her daughters, Brenda Edwards, of Red Bank, and Sandra (Jim) Weathers, of Cloudland, GA; her sons, John Lee Stancil of Red Bank, and David (Buffi) Stancil of Crossville, TN; grandchildren, Chris (Mandy) Edwards, and Jennifer (Josh) Gilbert; great-granddaughters, Emma, Indigo, Aurora, Amethyst, and Lydia; several nephews and nieces. Her special friends include Kelly and loving caregivers Susan, Pam, Vanecia, Janet, and Kay of Gooden’s Compassionate Care.

The family would like to give special thanks to Hospice of Chattanooga, Chattanooga Team for their loving care and support.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, May 8, 2026 at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Pastors Steve Atwood and Brian Maxwell officiating.

Interment will follow the service in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until service time on Friday at North Chapel.
