

She was born in Summerville, GA to Eugene W. and Lillian Street Norton on November 16, 1936. She moved with her parents back to the Gadsden, AL area where they grew up. She lived in Gadsden until she met and married the true love of her life, William Garner “Bill” Wyatt, Jr.
Barbara graduated in 1955 from Gadsden High School where she was a member of the National Honor Society. After graduation, she worked for Sears Roebuck, Singer Sewing Machine Company, and South Central Bell (Ma Bell). They moved to Nashville, TN in 1963 and then to Chattanooga following Bill’s work. They moved to Signal Mountain where they lived for over 50 years until his death in 2015. During these years, she worked with Tupperware as a sales representative and manager.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and sister, Jeanna Norton.
Survivors include her three children, William E. (Brenda) Wyatt, Deborah W. (Jason) Gaddis, and Charles D. (Alicia) Wyatt; grandchildren, James A. Moore, April (Rob) Curott, D. Michael (Katie) Moore, Amanda Roach, Kaitlyn Gaddis, and William Charles Max Wyatt; 5 great-grandchildren, sisters, Dawna Collier and Joanne Rooks; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Barbara will be held Thursday, May 29, 2025 from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel, 5401 Highway 153 Hixson, TN 37343. A graveside service will follow the visitation at Chattanooga National Cemetery starting at 1:30 pm, 1200 Bailey Avenue Chattanooga, TN 37404.
