Billy Eugene Verner

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Emory and Winnie Verner; sister, Geneva Crow; and wife, Mary.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia (Pat) Verner; daughter, Sherry Evans (Steve) Nix; grandson, Kota Nix; nephews, Wallace Kilpatrick, Chris Anderson, Kyle Kilpatrick, and fur baby Gracie, that he loved and enjoyed for 14 years.

He was a long time member of Brooks Memorial United Methodist Church, which he loved greatly.

Bill was an Air Force veteran, having served over a year in Korea. He retired from his Insurance business, Glynn General Corporation, in St. Simons Island, GA.

He was an avid golfer for many years, having enjoyed playing numerous courses across the US, and Ireland during his business travels. He held memberships at Creeks Bend and the former Hampton Club, St. Simons Island, GA.

Bill had many friends and will be missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 18, 2024 at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, at 3:00 PM. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until service time at North Chapel. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
