

He was born June 25, 1935 in Gainesboro, TN to the late James Otis and Hallie Mae Fox.
Boodie was a longtime member of Hixson Church of Christ (Clear Creek Church of Christ) and most recently attended North Hamilton Church of Christ. He and his wife, Carol, were instrumental in the World Bible School Ministry.
Boodie and Carol traveled to 46 states as he accompanied her in her Nursing training and continuing education.
He greatly enjoyed growing up on the Cumberland Plateau, where he hiked and was one with God’s creation.
Boodie graduated from Cumberland Co. High School and graduated from Tennessee Tech, where he majored in education. Shortly thereafter he earned his Masters in Education from Peabody at Vanderbilt. His teaching career spanned over 3 decades in which the majority was in Hamilton County Schools. During his career he spent over 25 years at Soddy-Daisy Middle School, where he was a highly successful basketball coach. Coach Fox counted himself as being very fortunate to have impacted the lives of many young men.
Boodie was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Lois Carol Fox, his siblings, Alice Smith, Carl Fox, Juanita Spencer, L. A. Fox, Joan Holloway, and Minnie Ezell.
He is survived by his sister, Johnnie (Fox) Perry, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday November 17, 2025 at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel at 3:00 PM with Minister Steve Lusk officiating. Interment will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until service time at the North Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Boyd Buchanan School, Goodpasture Christian School, Orange Grove Center, or a ministry of your choice.
