I’m a former player of his. We lost only two games and still won the championship. He was my favorite coach period, Find Christian man. My name is Terry Roberts. I have so much that I could say but don’t have enough space or time.

Loved my uncle Boodie!   He used to to tell me stories of his life when he worked for my father (who was married to one of his older sisters Juanita) in VA.   Lived with them and met Carol his wife there.  
He also talked a lot about his students , nephews & nieces and how proud they made him.  But church was his big love and I think he prayed for me often since I was not an active church member.
The last activity I did with Uncle Boodie was hiking on a trail in Hixson TN.  He loved hiking later in life .  Also after he lost Carol, he would rely on his sisters Joan & Johnnie daily for meals, laundry & company so I was fortunate to be visiting during some of those times. .   He will be greatly missed and always loved.

Coach Fox was my favorite COACH. He was a great Christian example. He not only talked the game, he participated in scrimmages. I remember him telling me I was playing “like a chicken with his head cut off.”
It took me years to figure out what he meant. I also remember him giving me the option of taking 3 licks with a paddle or sitting out a game. I wasn’t a starter my 8th grade year, but I knew if I had a chance to get in the game, I didn’t want to risk it. I’m sure Coach Fox got the message that I really wanted to play. I chose the 3 licks. WOW, he could really swing. 
When I played basketball at Carson Newman and Coach Fox came to watch, I felt special. Years down the road I remember Coach playing golf with me. I was very proud to show off my children to him. I remember Coach Fox showing his appreciation for parents that gave thank to God before their meal.
I still remember Coach Fox sitting down with me when I was starting my freshman year and discussing who the main two scorers were going to be. He said, “it was going to be and my best friend, Donnie Williams.” He was correct.

Please accept my condolences in the loss of Coach Fox. Although I never learned from him specifically, I have very fond memories that include him during the time I was at Soddy Middle as a student in the late 70’s. RIP Coach Fox and thank you for being a part of those memories for me!

I am so very grieved to hear of the loss of your beloved, Uncle Boodie.  I am praying that you and your family will be enveloped in God's loves, surrounded by the Saints of God who will deliver warm hugs, strengthened and given peace by our Lord and Savior, and reminded that because Jesus lives, our lives are worth continuing. I'm 69 years old and he was my teacher. I respected Mr. Fox so much. He was a good man and a genyleman.

My deepest condolences to th family. Mr. Fox was one of my teachers at Soddy Junior High and on staff of Soddy Daisy Middle School where I began my education career in 1964. He was a great educator and role model for generations of students and always faithful to his beliefs. He will be truly missed.

During our boys 1969 undefeated season we were playing  Tyner on a cold January evening and there was no heat in the gym. There was less than 1 minute left in the game and Tyner took a 1 point lead. Coach Fox called time out. He calmly told us exactly what to do to break the press and score. He said “we can do this and we will win the game.” So we followed the plan and won the game preserving our unbeaten season.  
He put the vision in our heads and told us we would win. Such is the philosophy of many successful teams today. Coach Fox encouraged us  to Get the vision and stay positive. This same message carried through his storied successful career that motivated many ,many players that were so privileged to be on a team he coached.

Coach Fox, my coach PE seventh eighth and ninth grade in the middle school I've never will forget when I ran away and I came back. He pulled me to the side and told me out of all the student that he's ever taught. He wouldn't have believed it would've been me later on in the years we connected at HARDEE'S. I was the district manager of HIXSON. He came in quite often. We would talk quite often. I got to meet his son my opinion he was the best coach that Soddy-Daisy ever had and the best teacher praying for all the family praise God that he and his wife is back together With our savior Jesus Christ

Mr. Fox was one of the best teachers, if not the best, that I had at Soddy Daisy Jr. and High Schools. He reminded me of a military sargeant, with his flat top hair style and perfectly pressed white shirt. He was strict with a pleasant personality. I listened to every word he said.  He certainly was a great influence on me, as well as many others. May God send the peace that surpasses all understanding.

THE definition, the absolute prototype, of a coach. As a man as well. Countless have been guided by his wisdom. Rest easy,  Coach.

Coach Fox, possibly the most dedicated, sincere gentleman who displayed  God's love every day. I work with Coach at Soddy Daisy Junior High and at Soddy Daisy Middle School. I have seen the brilliance of Coach Fox on the basketball court and in the classroom. Truly and man of caring about his students welfare and their well being. Peace, Coach......

Coach and Carol were great friends and neighbors for many years.  May God comfort the family and friends.
