Charles Louis Dautrich, Jr., 87, passed away Friday July 30, 2021. Charlie was born in Alexandria, VA to the late Charles Louis Sr. and Irma (Knable) Dautrich. He grew up in Chattanooga and was a 1961 graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
Charlie loved his country and was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict (1954-1956). He achieved rank of Private First Class and was awarded the Army of Occupations Medal. (Germany)
He was a member of the Alhambra Shriners, The American Legion and the Scottish Rite.
He was a teacher of auto mechanics early in his career, and in the late 1970’s Charlie purchased Brainerd Amoco full-service station. He was owner and operator for over 20 years, serving the Chattanooga and surrounding areas. He was dedicated to his customers and became a well respected businessman in the community.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, William E. Dautrich Sr.
He is survived by his daughters, Lisa Dautrich Adcock (Bob), Lori Dautrich, their mother Judy Worthington Dautrich, his granddaughter Sydney Lin Adcock, nephews and nieces: William E. Dautrich Jr, Cathy Dautrich Parks, Christine Cooley Vieth (George), James H Cooley Jr, (Janie) and beloved friends Nancy Vineyard and David Witt.
On Wednesday, August 4th a graveside service with military honors will be held at 11:00 am in Hamilton Memorial Gardens on Hwy 153. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am. Pallbearers will be David Witt, Bob Adcock, George Vieth, Jimmy Cooley and Scott Kennedy.
