

He was born August 10, 1916, near Gray, TN, in Washington County. Charlie was a construction Civil Engineer and Manager at six TVA dams, three fossil plants and one nuclear plant for 35 years. He had a life-long love of cars and accomplished with pride the complete restoration of a
1926 Ford T-model coupe in his retirement years.
Charlie was a devoted husband of 64 years to Mary Sue Keller Sherfey and caring father and
grandfather.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Sue, one brother, James Sherfey, of Knoxville, three children, Karen Elizabeth Sherfey (Jim Bilyeu), of Lakesite, Steven Keller Sherfey (Sharman), of Chattanooga, and Cheryl Sherfey Simmons, of Lakesite. He is also survived by nine
grandchildren, Jason Sherfey, of San Diego, Melissa Bradham (Rob), Sarah Sherfey, Rebecca Dean (Chris), all of Chattanooga, Mark Simmons and Todd Simmons of Memphis and Paul Simmons and Scott Simmons of Lakesite, Annette Bilyeu, Tampa, FL; three great grandchildren, Caleb Bradham and Keller Bradham, of Chattanooga, and Cayce Bilyeu-Ferguson, Tampa, FL; as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:30 pm on Saturday at the North Chapel.
Services for Charlie will follow at 2:30 pm on Saturday at the North Chapel. Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist.
