Charlotte was born in 1930 to her parents Florin and Roberta Troxel in Lafayette, IN. After graduating from Jefferson High School in 1948, she went on to marry the love of her life, Ronald Moore, that same year. Their family grew to include three children, Diane, Matt and Mark.
Charlotte’s professional journey reflected her dedication and compassion. She began her career as a keypunch operator at Purdue University and later worked as a bank teller and new accounts representative. However, her true calling came later in life when, at the age of 58, she returned to school as a non-traditional student at The Ohio State University to pursue a degree in social work. After graduating, she served faithfully with the Agency on Aging for several years before retiring and relocating to the Chattanooga area to be closer to family. In retirement, she found great joy in caring for her great-grandchildren and cherishing time with her beloved husband, Ron.
A devoted member of her church and community, Charlotte was a quiet woman with a generous heart. She faithfully served in many roles throughout the years, including teacher, youth sponsor, board and committee officer, elder, and an active member of Christian Women’s Fellowship. One of her most cherished church ministries was supporting a missionary family in Cambodia. She especially loved contributing homemade cookies to the annual fundraiser benefiting that mission.
Charlotte will be remembered for her gentle spirit, steadfast faith, and unwavering devotion to her family. Though soft-spoken, she never hesitated to stand up for those she loved. She enjoyed cooking and baking, sailing, and cheering on Ohio State football. Above all, she loved the Lord and faithfully supported her church and community throughout her life.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 77 years, Ronald Moore, her children: Charlotte Diane Winter, Ronald M. Moore and Mark (Cindy) Moore, her grandchildren: David (Vicki) Moore and Rocio (Bobby) Seale and her great grandchildren: Jade (Ryan) Hime, Carmen Seale and Rylie Seale.
