Chris was born on December 13, 1979, in Chattanooga, TN to Michael C. Jenkins and the late Tish (Bryson) Morgan. Chris lived in different cities over the years, but Hixson, TN was home. He graduated from Chattanooga High School Center for Creative Arts in 1997 and attended Rocky Mountain College of Art & Design in Denver, Colorado.
Chris had a deep love of the arts, especially literature and film. He was a member of the Chattanooga Filmmakers Guild. His short film True Horizon was featured in the online version of the 2025 Seattle Film Festival.
Chris was very passionate about all kinds of music. He also loved animals and opened his home to several rescue cats and his beloved dog, Frosty.
Chis enjoyed family time, especially when the family gathered for a meal, whether it was in a restaurant or at home. He became a passionate home chef. He loved making hot sauces in his own kitchen using fresh ingredients.
One of the greatest joys of Chris’ life was becoming an uncle when his nephew Luke was born in 2011. Nothing brought a broader smile to Chris’s face than hearing the word “Kunkle.”
Chris is survived by his dad, Michael C. Jenkins, stepmom, Sandee Jenkins, brother Dana (Beka), stepsister, Sue Anne Philson (Brad), nephew Luke, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Tish (Bryson) Morgan.
