Cletus Oloney Bishop, age 95, of Signal Mountain, Tennessee passed away on Monday, August 12, 2024 surrounded by family. He was a loving husband, father, granddaddy/pawpaw, brother, uncle, and friend. Cletus was born December 31, 1928 in Bedford County.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Mary Phillips Bishop; brother, Charles; and sister, Mary C. Williams.
Cletus served in the U.S. Navy, during the Korean War, aboard the USS Currituck and the USS Roosevelt. Most of his tour was served in the Mediterranean. He worked for American Electrical for 31 years and then became co-owner of Bishop's Galleries with his wife, Rene. He was also the owner of "Great Graphics Corporation", which published the licensed art for the 1982 World's Fair in Knoxville, TN. Cletus was a talented craftsman and loved sports, especially golf. He loved the Lord and his church.
Survivors includes his loving wife of 72 years, Rene; son, Monty (Teresa) Bishop; daughter, Kim (Jim) Womack; grandsons, Ryan (Jill) Bishop and Evan (Caitlin) Bishop; granddaughter, Lauren Womack; as well as great grandchildren, Nash Bishop, Noah Bishop, and Ansley Bishop; and several nieces and nephews.
A special thank to his beloved caregivers, Kim Dodd and Janna McKenna, and two very special nurse friends from Erlanger. He filled all our lives with love and laughter, and he will be greatly missed.

A visitation for Cletus will be held Monday, August 19, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Chattanooga Funeral Home-North Ch, 5401 Highway 153, P.O. Box 9, Hixson, TN 37343, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM.
