He was born January 12, 1989, to Corky and Patti Owen. He was a 2007 graduate of Ooltewah High School where he played baseball. Cody continued his education at Hiwassee College on a baseball scholarship. He was employed by UPS for 10 years where he was a driver for 6 of the years. Cody was an avid outdoorsman and admirer of Japanese Maples. He loved fishing and hunting of all kinds. Cody was known for his sense of humor, his soft heart, and his love for his family, especially his nieces and nephew.
Cody is preceded in death by his grandfather, Jack Manis and great-grandparents, Herman and Mildred Owen and Jack and Edna Smith.
Left to honor his memory are his parents, Corky and Patti Owen; his sweet heart and love of his life, Abby Blankenship; sister, Candace Gill; adored nieces and nephew, Jackson Owen, Meadow Owen, and Poppy Gill; maternal grandmother, Sandra Manis; paternal grandparents, Stanley Owen and Patsy Owen; uncles, Jim (Kelly) Manis, Tony (Terri) Manis, and Mike (Kelly) Owen; his canine companion, Linny “Boo Bo”; and many cousins that loved him so.

A visitation for Cody will be Sunday, August 31, 2025 for 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Chattanooga Funeral Home - North Chapel, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, TN 37343. A second visitation will be held Monday, September 1, 2025 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the funeral home. The funeral service will follow starting at 11:00 am. Family and friends will then proceed to Hamilton Memorial Gardens for the committal.
