Cyrus Darwin “Dee” Roark, age, 94, went to his heavenly home on Wednesday, March 2, 2016. Dee spent his whole life in the Chattanooga area. He was a farmer in Birchwood, TN in his younger years. He then went to work at Combustion Engineering where he retired. He was a member of Red Bank Methodist Church. He was a member of the “Greatest Generation”. He proudly served his country in WWII in the U.S. Army Amphibious Tank Division and was involved in the invasions on the islands of Leyte and Okinawa. He will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and always having a friendly smile. He is survived by his wife, Iva and son Ronnie and his wife, Cindy. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM on Sunday, March 6th at Chattanooga Funeral Home, 5401 Hwy 153, Hixson. Services will follow at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Bruce Galyon officiating. Interment will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens with military honors. . Arrangements are under the care of the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
