

Born on January 11, 1937, in Kokomo, Indiana, David was the son of the late Donald and Norma Horsman. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth "Betsy" Horsman, the beloved mother of his sons, Andrew and Davey. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Julia Louise Gingerich, and his brother, Daniel Horsman.
A proud veteran of the United States Army, David served his country during the Korean Conflict. Throughout his life, he exemplified leadership, service, and dedication to his community. In recognition of his contributions, he was honored with a State of Tennessee Proclamation from the Governor.
David earned his undergraduate degree from Ball State University and later received his MBA from Indiana University. An accomplished entrepreneur, he founded and operated several successful manufacturing businesses. He was deeply committed to helping others and generously shared his time and talents through service on the boards of Teen Challenge, Resource, and Chattanooga State Community College.
A faithful member of First Presbyterian Church on McCallie Avenue, David taught Sunday school for many years, touching countless lives through his wisdom, kindness, and steadfast faith.
Above all, David's greatest love and joy were his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose legacy of love, integrity, and generosity will be cherished by all who knew him.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years, Sandra Horsman of Chattanooga, Tennessee; his children, Kathryn Horsman of Winter Park, Florida, Davidson Horsman of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Andrew Stephen Horsman (Lauren) of Denver, Colorado; his stepson, Robert Chris Davis III of Chattanooga, Tennessee; seven grandchildren, Christopher, Katie, Rand, Thomas, Crosby, Emmett, and Holden; his brother, Bruce Horsman of Bradenton, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 4, 2026, from 2:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Chattanooga Golf and Country Club, 1511 Riverview Road, Chattanooga, Tennessee 37405.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund at First Presbyterian Church, 554 McCallie Avenue, Chattanooga, Tennessee 37402.
