David Paul Ormsby, 72, of Hixson died Monday, February 14, 2022. He was born March 19, 1949, in Endicott, New York. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Barton Ormsby, mother, Laurel Maris Wiggins, brothers, James Leroy Ormsby and Robert Stanley Ormsby, and sister, Luann Ormsby Farley.
A wonderful, caring, and giving husband, father, and grandfather, David was very involved in his boys’ lives, especially with Little League, Boy Scouts, and camping. He enjoyed working on cars and was a fan of science, science fiction, and movies. Mr. Ormsby retired from TVA as a Nuclear Engineer. He earned a master’s degree in nuclear engineering from the University of Buffalo, after serving in the US Air Force as a SSGT.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Linda Ormsby; sons, Paul (Liz) Ormsby, Sean (Sherry) Ormsby, Adam (Jenna) Ormsby, and Dale Ormsby; grandchildren, Piper, Paige, Jasmyne, Claire, Dakota, and Hannah; and 2 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters Carol McCarthy and Sharon Ormsby.
There will be a celebration of David’s life on his birthday, March 19th, from 3pm to 6pm in the auditorium of Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts (CSLA), located at 6579 E Brainerd Rd in Chattanooga. Extended family and close friends will be welcome.
