Daxa Desai

Daxa Desai, 74, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away on September 7, 2026. Born on September 19, 1951, in India, Daxa will be remembered with deep respect and enduring affection by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Daxa’s life was marked by steady devotion and a generous spirit. She carried herself with a quiet strength, offering kindness in ways both seen and unseen, and giving of herself with a selfless care that made others feel welcomed, supported, and valued.

She earned a BA degree, a reflection of her commitment to learning and the foundations she built through diligence and purpose.

Daxa was married to Mayur Desai. She was a beloved mother to her son, Harsh Desai, and his wife, Lauren, and a cherished grandmother to their children, Priya and Arya Desai. She was also a loving mother to her daughter, Mugdha Alverson, and her husband, David, and a devoted grandmother to their son, Kyran Alverson.

She is also survived by her sister, Meena Naik, and her brothers, Hemal Desai, Trushar Desai, and Dilip Desai.

Daxa’s care for others was perhaps most warmly felt in her kitchen, where her love of cooking for everyone became a daily expression of her kind-hearted nature. In gathering people around food she prepared with attention and warmth, she offered comfort, connection, and a sense of home that will be deeply missed.
