I heard  of my cousin Denny's passing last night and felt completely bereft. He had such a way about him, as a young man he could even make an awkward young girl feel wonderful. He showed me my first dance steps. Reading the remembrance of people he knew in his adult years showed me that that kind, wonderful young man grew into a respected, kind, loving and giving man. He has 3 boys that my heart breaks for. You had a wonderful father.

John and I were so sad and surprised to hear about big Dennis. We spent many wonderful years together when our boys and the Schiavon boys were young.Dennis was always ready to help. We pray for all his family as they grieve. He brightened many of our days.

I was heartbroken when I heard the news of my cousin Denny's passing.  He was such a great guy and I have such fond memories of him when I was growing up.  I'll never forget you Denny!  My hearfelt sympathy to the boys.  You had a great dad.

I was so saddened to hear of "Yankees" passing away.  He was a dear friend; we shared many of the same interests and you could always count on him to make the day a little brighter.  RIP guy, hope to see you again one day.

I am so sad about Big Dennis. I was so upset lastnight when I found out I couldn't even write anything yet. I'm nauseated this morning but feel the need to write as my sister did about Big Dennis and how great he was to me always, but especially after a car wreck that left me a paraplegic. My home was not wheelchair accessible for me and I couldn't even use my own bathroom at my own home. One day shortly after, he said he was coming over to take a few measurements to see what needed to happen to make my bathroom accessible. Well shortly after he got there I heard a big crash and pushed into the other room to see what was going on. There I saw Big Dennis tearing down a wall and getting the job done single-handedly and at no cost to my family who was struggling at that time. At that moment especially, he looked like superman to me. But that is just one example of the many loving and generous things he did for me and my family that I will never forget or cease to be appreciative for. He was like another Dad to me, and will certainly be very greatly missed by myself and all my family. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with the boys and all the Schiavons and many family and friends that I know also will greatly miss him.

Remembering my dear friend YANK, who had a personality that can never be matched by anyone.  There are just too many good memories to even try to begin to list so I will just say GoodBye Yank....may you spread as much humor in heaven as you did on earth.  I will miss you dearly.

I just heard about this and I am deeply saddened. I will never forget how giving on his time and resources he was to my family after the accident in 1995. He had a quality about him that made a person feel safe and comfortable. I will always remember him as a man with such a big heart and I am so, so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and my prayers are with you all.
