Derek touched so many lives with his smile and sense of humor, I remember our first day of training in 2011 , he put everyone at ease with a smile and I don't think he ever met a stranger. He was so gifted with his art, his love for people and we always talked about Hockey every time we saw each other. He expressed how happy he was with Jen and the girls and that his life was so rich now. Derek you my friend are missed beyond your imagination. Rest in peace.

When visiting Chatt, I always looked forward to talking with Derek. Through conversation we learned of our Connecticut roots and of course with me living in Boston, Derek's love for the Patriots.
To Derek's family & friends, my condolences and may you find peace.

I've worked with Derek for the past 4 years or so at HomeServe. He always wanted to know how you were doing, even in the middle of trying to solve a customer issue. For those times when we got right down to business, he'd be sure to end the conversation with a bit of news from Chatt or want to know how one of our projects up in Norwalk was going. Derek appreciated, and wanted you to appreciate, that minute or two of humanity that could make a rough day seem a little better. He will definitely be missed around the office.

Derek was one of the first people I met at work. Worked together for only 3 years, but he was always helpful and kind and had a smile on his face. He never let his disability disable him. I never met anyone that didn't like Derek because he was just an awesome guy. He will be missed.

I remember meeting you 8 years ago at HomeServe. My 1st year there and you were always so open and considerate, there to help anytime. And I remember you and your funny sense of humor. Heaven is so lucky to have you. 🙏

I am so sorry to hear of Derek's passing. He was truly a bright spot in my life when we opened the Deland call center, and we remained friends forever after. Derek invited me to church and, in doing so, helped me find "family". He was a man that cared for so many, and accepted others for who they are, and I will miss him.

The last conversation Derek and I had was the day he passed away
He was so excited about his new promotion!
He was ready for a new adventure
He loved his family dearly
His eyes smoled when he spoke of his beautiful wife Jennifer!
He shared how excited he was to finally be settling into their new home.
My thoughts and prayers are with his entire family
And this I can say without a doubt Homeserve will never be the same
