He is now walking with Jesus, Hallelujah!
Dewayne was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga. He graduated from Chattanooga High School and attended ETSU. He worked at Southern Wood Piedmont for many years. He has been the branch manager of Meyer Decorative Surfaces for the last 20 years. He was dearly loved by his family, friends and coworkers. He, in turn, lived a faith-driven life, loving them and serving Christ. He has served as a Sunday school teacher, deacon, held many committee positions, attended and led many mission trips and was a man of prayer. He was a member of Dallas Bay Baptist Church. Dewayne was also an avid sports fan and participant, playing football, basketball, softball and golf. He loved the Tennessee Vols and the Braves. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family while at the beach.
The family wishes to thank Hospice of Chattanooga, particularly nurse Amy Latham, for their wonderful care and compassion. Thank you to Tonita Jenkins for her tender assistance. Also, thank you to Dr. Larry Schlabach and his staff, especially oncology nurse Lori Hill, for their encouragement and excellent medical treatment over the years.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Dewey Billingsley and his father, A. P. Billingsley.
Dewayne is survived by his beloved wife, Beverly and two treasured children and their spouses, Kristen (Matt) Sigler and Aaron (Tiffany) Billingsley. He was the proud Poppa of granddaughters, Allison and Katelyn Sigler, the lights of his life. He is also survived by his dear mother,
Iona Billingsley.
