My condolences to the Roberson family. It's hard to believe Dewey has transitioned from this life to heaven. While a few years older than me, I remember him well from Tennessee Youth Camp days and watching he play for the North Chatt CoG softball team on the old Lee Highway campground. He was an idol to me of sorts, one I looked up to as a athlete - an all around great guy. I also remember him singing with the North Chatt CoG you choir, especially his Andre Crouch solo, 'I've Got Confidence.' It's been many years since I've seen you, friend, separated by time (decades) and many miles. Your graduation is bittersweet: sad for those you left behind, but rejoicing that you have entered His eternal presence to join loved ones  gone before. I honor your memory today and remained firmly rooted in the hope that we will meet again....


Dear Teresa, children, and extended family:
We grieve with you in the loss of Dewey.
I, (Edna) cut his hair several times when he was in his teens because the barber shops “couldn’t get it right” for the kids at that time.
Our son, Joey, told us how Dewey would come to the gym and help the younger kids with their basketball game. He remembers Dewey once shooting 100 consecutive foul shots in a row.
How he blessed us with singing! Just wish we had recordings of some of those songs. One day we will all join Dewey “In the  presence of Jehovah” as we thank God for a life well lived.


....dear teresa and family....my heart and my prayers are with you in this season....and i am remembering dewey as an important part of my own history....(loved how he sang one of my personal youth choir favorites :  “sweet, sweet Spirit”!)..........i am delighted to read soooo many of the beautiful comments of folks who continued to know him and associate with him over the years....comments regarding his good contributions to life and his winsome encouragements to so many......truly.....i think dewey was one of the ones who “made it through”.....and that is an inspiration!.....

....may those of you left following in his footsteps also be encouraged, inspired and comforted today and in the weeks and months to come.....and may you continue to trust the God who never fails us......

Dewey was a brother in Christ.  He had a servants heart and was passionate about helping others.   A few months back we visited The Ministry Center and Dewey and Teresa was the first to Welcome us and invited us to lunch. The fellowship and laughter on that day was just what we needed .   We will remember Dewey for his love for Christ, family and community.  We love to hear Dewey sing, that was his ministry!!  He could usher in the presence of God in  song and praise and you could feel the anointing!  Our favorite was He's been Faithful.  We are celebrating Dewey today and know that he is in the presence of the King! 
 Love you Dewey, you will be missed my friend!

Kathy and I were most saddened to hear about the passing of Dewey. So many good memories that go back to the City High days with his brother Eddie being in our class and such good friends over the years. Dewey was a faithful servant and certainly used his talents in a way that brought glory to the Lord. Our prayers for comfort, strength and peace go out to Theresa and the entire Roberson family during this time of loss. May the Lord's blessings be with you all. 

+I was fortunate to meet and work with Dewey for a few years at AmSouth/Regions.  Dewey was a good friend, and a fine man.  I am sad to see that he passed away so early in his life. We have so much to look forward too when someday we will meet again in Heaven. Please know that I am praying for peace and comfort to his family.  

Dewey was a wonderful person.  We were lucky to have known him as a friend and neighbor.  We will miss him.  Rest in peace, Dewey.

To me, the best memory I’ve had with Dewey is just his heart for ministry. From men’s ministry to choir, to just greeting guests, he truly had a servant’s heart. I will always hear him singing In the Presence of Jehovah and I am not Ashamed. He is in the presence of the King now rejoicing at the throne. I love you Dewey and I will see you again my friend. To the family, Lauren and I are here for you. We grieve with you, anything you need we are a call away. 

I knew Dewey years ago and always found him to be kind, considerate and a good Godly man. Shared many a Thanksgiving dinner with him. Will be praying for the family as you adjust to this loss. Ed and Sonja

Dewey was a kind Christian gentleman. I will always remember him singing "Covered". It was such a blessing to all.

This is hard to take in as he was such a great person.  Growing up at N. Chattanooga with all the kids were the same as family.  He will be missed by so many.  

I didn't have the honor of ever meeting Dewey Roberson, but I know that he raised one amazing daughter in Claire. Sending so much love and prayers to the entire family and all who knew him.

I'm heartbroken over Dewey because he will be missed on this Earth but I rejoice that he is forever healed and in the presence of  Jehovah.  I will always remember him singing that song and many others.  

You all are in my thoughts and prayers, as well as Tim's.

The Chattanooga High School Alumni  Association extends it's deepest sympathy to Teresa and the family on Dewey's passing.  He was a man of great  integrity and character and a true Dynamo for Life. RIP Dewey!

I first met Dewey when he joined our Rotary Club in Cleveland . I had been working with his father for several years and had learned to love and respect the family. What a great family!  I worked closely with Dewey when his dad passed on. He was a class act. The whole family made a positive impression on me that I shall never forget. I am shocked and saddened at his passing.
