As we moved to the Chattanooga area in 1982, Don was always such a kind, compassionate, caring, and encouraging man to a young coach and young family.

Don and my wife would find themselves at Cenral High School to walk the track & often jokingly referred to themselves as “walking buddies”.

Don was a very important part of the Lake Hills church of Christ.

He was loved and admired by many & will be missed.

I had the true pleasure of working with your father / grandfather at Red Food Stores in the Store Development role from 1992-1995. He was so kind, supportive and optimistic with me and all he came in contact with. He knew everyone throughout Chattanooga because Don made and effort to get to know you, your interests and your goals. His faith was deep and you could feel his joy in every action and conversation. I am a better person from knowing him. Peace be with the Haynes family.
