Donna Katherine Spino

Donna Spino, 78, of Hixson, passed away on Friday, October 16, 2026. She was born on October 28, 1947, in Knoxville, Tennessee to the late Leroy and Juanita Hutchison. Donna was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend,

Donna married her best friend, Ken Spino, on Saturday, February 16, 1974, marking the beginning of a loving 52-year journey together. Their love story was filled with shared adventures, road trips, and cherished moments. Donna enjoyed her many visits to the Smoky Mountains and Cades Cove, where she found tranquility and happiness.

Donna is survived by her caring husband, Ken Spino, their two daughters, Laura Blair and Emily (Joey) Smith, and her three very cherished granddaughters, Gracy, Laney, and Carly. Her granddaughters were the pride and joy of her life, being a Mimi was her greatest pleasure.

Donna spent the last 15 years of her professional life at Memorial Hospital, retiring from Nursing Administration. It was at this job where she met her dear friend, June Ewing. Ken and Donna also enjoyed camping trips with their lifelong friend, Terry Collins, and wife Carol. Donna loved spending time with the people she loved, good food, and listening to Dolly Parton.

Her family and friends will gather for a private graveside service at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Friends of the Smokies, to honor Donna's memory.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered prayers and support during this difficult time. At long last, Donna received her wish to be reunited with her Mother, our precious Nanaw.
