Doris Hawkins Brymer of Hixson passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at her residence. She was born, one of ten children, in Ridgeway, VA. Doris worked at DuPont in Martinsville, VA, where she met the love of her life, Bill, to whom she was married for 46 years. She was an avid golfer and bowler, and had participated in various roles for the Valleybrook Community Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, W. D. (Bill) Brymer, two brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her children, Craig (Tay) and Keith (Judith) Brymer, grandchildren Alex and Lauren Brymer, and also by two sisters and three brothers. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Tuesday, September 10 at Chattanooga Funeral Home – North Chapel in Hixson. A celebration of Doris’ life will be held at Hixson Methodist Church at 11 AM on Wednesday, September 11. Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
