OBITUARY
Dorothy C Markert
Passed away on January 17, 2022

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith.
Dorothy "Dot” Coleman Markert met her Lord on Jan 17, 2022. She was 89. A longtime resident of Chattanooga. She was always the first to take meals to those who were sick and loved entertaining at her home. She volunteered at her church as church hostess for many years as well as teaching Sunday School, singing in the choir, and serving in numerous ministries. She loved her Savior and Lord and exemplified that in all she did and with everyone she met, even in her last days of pain and discomfort.
Dot is preceded in death by her parents Paul and Lillie Mae Coleman, husband of 70 years Ed Markert, and son Steven Lee Markert, and great grandson Colton Holder.
She is survived by her daughters Joy (Rick) Marler; Terri (Doug) Baker, daughter-in-law Mary Markert; grandchildren Jason (Stacey) Rambo, Katie Duggan, Aimee (Seth) Floyd, Chase (Ashley) Holder, and Stacy (Brett) Nolan and eight great grandchildren. I believe as Dot entered heaven, she was told “well done my child. Welcome Home.”
A special thanks to her sitters Linda Hubbard, Gina Knight, and Amedysis Hospice, and Peggy Fowler for the special care given through the years she was bedridden.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Ridgedale Baptist Church or HaCoBa.
Services will be held Friday, January 21, 2022, at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel. Visitation will be 11:00-1:00 and the service at 1:00 and graveside following.
