Douglas M. Gallant, Sr. 78, of Chattanooga died Tuesday, April 21, 2020. He was born March 24, 1942 in Chattanooga to the late Hardin Gallant Sr. and Lela Ethel Thornbury Gallant. He was preceded in death by daughter, Debbie Sue Gallant. Mr. Gallant was a member of St. John United Methodist Church, and was very active in the community.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Linda Gallant; sons, Michael (Kellye) Gallant and Dougals Gallant, Jr.; grandchildren, Joshua Gallant, and Emily Gallant.
Doug will forever be remembered as a man that loved his family and would sacrifice anything for them, yet always found time to help a friend in need, even when not requested. His kind and humble heart will be missed by all that knew him.
A private graveside service will be held Friday at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
