Edna Davis

Mrs. Davis was a long time resident of the Hixson Community. She grew up and spent her young years on the Godsey Cedar Grove Farms,and after her marriage she resided with her husband and children on Godsey Drive, in Hixson TN until her move to Pikeville, TN, nine years ago. She was a graduate of the Hixson High School. Edna is Charter member of the Central Baptist Church of Hixson where she served as the first secretary and treasure of the church. Former primary Sunday school teacher and a former member of the Senior Ester Sunday School class.

Mrs. Davis was a wonderful homemaker, making her home a welcoming comfort to her family and friends. She loved the outdoors flowers, and watching humming birds.

Edna is preceded in death by her husband Ovis J. Davis; her parents Grady and Sally Godsey; brothers Matt , Willard, James , and Austin Godsey; sisters Zetta and Isabelle Godsey

Edna is survived by her children Catherine Sue Davis Stults of Pikeville,TN, O. Grady Davis of Pikeville, TN, T. Martin Davis of Crossville, TN; R. Denton Davis of Hixson, TN; sister Pearl Godsey Bice of Hixson, TN; Grandchildren Susan ( Jim) Warden, Cynthia Rainey, Michael (Candi) Stults, Matthew ( Holly) Davis, Shanyn Davis, Jeff Davis, Marta Davis, Neely Davis

nine great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren

Several cousins, nieces and nephews

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 10, 2013 from 4-8 pm eastern time and on Sunday, August 11 from 1-3 at Chattanooga Funeral Home-North Chapel

A graveside service will be conducted at 3 pm at Hamilton Memorial Gardens, on Sunday with Pastor Jimmy Williams officiating,
