A native of Forrest City, Arkansas, she lived most of her adult life and raised her family in Memphis, TN.
She had a deep passion for choral music and sang alongside her husband, Arne, in the choir of every church they attended. Her faith in God flourished, particularly through her years as a teaching leader in Bible Study Fellowship. Ann found joy in gardening and hosting frequent gatherings for her family and friends at their home in Olive Branch. They were dedicated members of Christ Presbyterian where she was the church secretary for many years. After the death of her beloved Arne, Ann moved to Signal Mountain, Tennessee and was a member of Mountain Fellowship Church.
At her children’s request, Ann documented her life story and later wrote over 20 poems which were recently published.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ernestine Runyan, her husband, Arne B. Thompson Jr., and sister, Sara Jane Douglass.
She is survived by her daughter, Ann (Larry) Parry, and son, Will (Roxanne) Thompson, as well as 4 grandchildren, Meg Parry, Taylor Parry, Joshua Thompson, and Isabella Thompson.
Interment will be at South Woods Memorial Park, 5485 Hacks Cross Road, in Memphis.
