Ella Jean Grider

Jean was born in South Pittsburg to the late Ernest and Maggie Martin. She was a 1959 graduate of South Pittsburgh High School. Jean was the office manager for Diagnostic Hospital for many years and retired from the Associated Urologists of Chattanooga. Jean was a member of Silverdale Baptist Church.

Jean was a cherished and deeply loved wife, mother, Jinxter, daughter and friend.

She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Angela Carolyn Grider; her two brothers, Dennis and Bobby Martin.

Jean is survived by her husband of 66 years, Charles E. Grider; daughter Gina Shawn Grider and her cherished granddaughter, Haley Shayn Grider; several in-laws, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 11 am until 1 pm on Friday, November 7, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Jean’s life will follow at 1 pm on Friday at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
