

He was a member of Chamberlain Memorial Baptist Church and a member of American Legion.
Elmer grew up in East Chattanooga and graduated from Central High School and McKinzie Business College. He served in the United States Air Force during WWII in the Pacific Area as a pilot on B25 bomber planes. Elmer retired from Norfolk Southern Corp. With 32 years of service. Elmer enjoyed golf, Classical Music and working crossword puzzles.
Elmer was preceded in death by his parents Edgar and Nola Foster; two brothers Roy Lee Foster and Glenn Ray Foster, Sr.
Elmer is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years Billie Mae Cravy Foster of Marietta GA; two sisters Louise Foster Moon and Mary Foster Woods, Both of Chattanooga, TN; several nieces and nephews. Also their dearly beloved neighbor the Budner family, especially Kathleen Budner Kilgore and devoted care giver Sally Sowe.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 7, 2014 from 2-7 pm at Chattanooga Funeral Home-North Chapel
Funeral service will be conducted at 2 pm on Monday, September 8, 2014 in the funeral home chapel with Pastor David Seymour officiating
Interment will follow to Greenwood Cemetery
