Emily Jane Journey Kerr, age 87, of Chattanooga, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 4, 2021, at home surrounded by family. She had been cared for in her home for many years by her son, Allan Kerr, and daughter-in-law, Joanie Kerr. She was born October 19, 1933 in Columbia, Tennessee to the late James Williamson Journey and Emmalyn Elizabeth Kilby Journey. She is survived by her daughter, Janice Granger (Tom) of Hoover, AL; son, Allan Kerr (Joanie) of Chattanooga, TN; daughter, Ann Goodin (Harry) of Fishers, IN; six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and brother, James Craig Journey of Garner, NC. She was preceded in death by her loving husband John Franklin Kerr, her sister Carol Kilby Journey White, and her grandson Andrew Kerr Goodwin. She will be laid to rest in a private family graveside service at Chattanooga Memorial Park, 501 Memorial Drive, Chattanooga, with Dr. Thomas Quisenberry officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to Hearth Hospice, 1800 Rossville, Ave., Suite 114, Chattanooga, TN 37408. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
