I didn’t often have times I could snuggle up and nap with my Papaw. We were always doing things when we were together. Gardening, building model cars in his shop, finding ways to keep the squirrels from eating the bird food, finding ways to keep the rabbits from eating the people food, betting that he couldn’t drive straight to Baskin Robbins without stopping (he’d roll ever so slowly through every stop sign and every light) to get our milkshakes, making fruit salad... even when we were relaxing in the living room and watching Hee Haw, Wheel of Fortune or Jeopardy, we were snapping green beans, cracking walnuts, or he’d have me by my knees tickling me relentlessly.
And then he had great-grandchildren. He has loved each of them fiercely since the day they entered this world. Pride and joy poured from his being whenever he was with them. We have been so blessed to have such a loving and Godly man to guide us. Thank you for a job well done, Papaw. We love you and are so happy to know you are with Mamaw again. Please give her the biggest hug from us. We are celebrating with all of Heaven! ♥️
