

Mrs. Eunice Thomas Harp, 98, passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2016. She was born on Tuesday, July 3, 1917 in Catoosa County, Georgia and grew up on the Judd Hullender Farm. At age 16, Eunice moved to the Chattanooga area to work in the textile industry. Later in life, she worked at the Chattanooga Cancer Clinic. Eunice was a long time resident of Tyner, TN. She was a member of the Tyner Methodist Church and was ministered to by the Care Bear Team. She enjoyed vegetable gardening and working in her flower gardens.
Eunice was preceded in death by her first husband, Henry Thomas of Tyner, TN; her second husband, J.C. Harp of Alabama; and brother, T.J. Hullender (Mary Lou).
Survivors include her Stepsons, K.J. Harp (Eve) of Wetumpka, AL and Randy Harp of Montgomery, AL; Nieces, Gaye Johnson (Ray) and Nina Hughes (Charles); as well as several sisters-in-law and other nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend special thanks to wonderful neighbors, Shorty and Elva Kinser, and sister-in-law, Betty Dunning for their loving care for Eunice. Special thanks also go to Martin-Boyd Assisted Living, Parkside Nursing Home, and Hospice of Chattanooga.
There will be graveside services for Mrs. Harp on Saturday, March 19th at 11:00 A.M. at Hamilton Memorial Gardens, 5351 Hwy 153, Hixson, TN. Arrangements are under the care of the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
