Born on March 20, 1955, in Dalton, Georgia, Kirk was known for his kind-hearted nature and deep love for his family.
Kirk graduated from Dalton High School and furthered his education at the University of Georgia and Auburn University. He was a dedicated employee of Kenan Advantage Group for over 14 years, where he was respected for his commitment and hard work.
He was preceded in death by his father, Franklin Arwood, mother, Peggy Arwood and brother, John Arwood.
Kirk is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Kathy Marler Arwood. He is also survived by his sister, Leona "Lee" (Alan) Burpee; sons, James Arwood and Jonathan Arwood; daughter, Jenna Smith; stepsons, Eric Ralls and Philip (Joleen) Wilson; grandchildren, Austin Arwood, Katie Wilson, Ryman Ralls, Jaden Arwood, Brainna Arwood, Griffin Ralls, Harrison Ralls, Landyn Wilson, and Bradyn Wilson; great-grandson, Joseph Arwood, and several nieces and nephews.
Kirk's greatest joy was spending time with his family and grandchildren. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, laughing, and sometimes yelling. Kirk and Kathy had plenty of ups and downs but always maintained great love for each other through it all.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 pm on Friday, December 19 and 1 to 2 pm on Saturday, at the Chattanooga Funeral Home-North Chapel, A Celebration of Kirk's life will follow at 2:00 pm at the North Chapel with Richard Self presiding. A committal service will take place at Chattanooga Memorial Park, 501 Memorial Drive, Chattanooga, TN 37415.
Serving as pallbearers are Philip Wilson, Ryman Ralls, Austin Arwood, Gordon Ford, Greg Chambers and Matt Wells.
Kirk will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
