Gary A. Greenhut

Gary was born in 1942 in Frederick, Maryland. He served in the U S Air Force, and then served the tourist industry in various convention and visitor bureaus mainly in the southeast. He retired from the DeKalb County, Georgia Convention and Visitor Bureau in 2010 after having the honor of working during the Atlanta Olympics.

He is survived by his wonderful wife of 18 years, Ann. He is also survived by three daughters, and their families: Lisa Shriner and husband Jim and their sons Derick Horst, and Dalton Horst and daughter Alexis Shriner; Tracie Dauplaise and husband Mark; and Cristi Myers and husband Jim and their sons Brady and Colby; two Step-Daughters and their families: Debra Adkins and husband Jim Whitehead with his daughter Julie Tullis and husband Michael and their daughter Miranda; and Verna Kofflin and son Justin Zalewski and wife Lauren; and daughter Heather Young and husband Chris and their sons Alex and Logan.

A service for Gary will be held on Thursday, March 10 at 11:00 am at Fairview United Methodist Church, 3901 Hamill Road. Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his memory to DAV Homeless Veterans Initiative or St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
