She was a retired, exemplary seamstress for many years, and a wonderful homemaker.
Genell was born November 12, 1940, in Thaxton, Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her father, William Moody; her mother, Grace Graham; and her stepfather, Lee Sherwood.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Victor Scouten; son, Scott Scouten; her daughter, Vicki Lusk; and her grandsons she adored, Kane, Ethan, and Noah Lusk. She is also survived by her brothers Larry Sherwood (Gene) of Roanoke, Virginia; Zane Moody of Thaxton, Mississippi; and sister, Susan Winters of Thaxton, Mississippi. She was grateful for many close friends, and relied greatly on her good friends, Norma Tate and Toni McNeese.
Her greatest joy was always spending time with her family. When asked who she was, she always said Wife, Mother and Grandmother.
The family would like to thank Hearth Hospice for their excellent care of and guidance with our treasure in her final days.
The family will receive friends and celebrate her life on Friday, May 26th from 4:30 pm to 8:00 pm at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel, Hixson.
Arrangements are under the care of the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
