George was retired from Hamilton County School System, Bus #86. He was an avid NASCAR fan and was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sally Anderson, brother, Jack Roden, Sister, Geneva Vandier, and a son, Jimmy Anderson.
He is survived by his wife, George Ann Anderson, son, Mark (Karen) Anderson of Hixson, two daughters, Sharon Webb of Soddy Daisy and Sheila (Ron) Ullenberg of Signal Mountain, one granddaughter, Megan Anderson of Chattanooga, three grandsons, Casey Powell of Chattanooga, Patrick (Kirsten) Webb of CA, Tim Ullenberg of Chattanooga, one great granddaughter, Alexis, two great grandsons, Owen and Gavin, several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Jack, Betty, David, Shanna and Casey of Hospice of East Tennessee and a special thanks to Tim Waldo.
Funeral services will be held 2:30 P.M. Sunday, September 12 at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 2 until 8 P.M. today at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
