Georgia Marie Barron , 94, formerly of Chattanooga, passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2014 in a Spring City health care facility. Georgia was a member of First Centenary United Methodist Church. She was also a lifetime blood donor and was retired from both Provident and Profitts.
Georgia was preceded in death by her husband of 24 years, Richard E. “Woody” Barron; parents, John and Anna Thompson; brothers, Carl Opp and Frank Thompson; sister Margarette Nowlin; grandson, Brian Barron.
Georgia is survived by her daughter, Sharon B. (Mark) Harvey and her son, Richard (Marijane) Barron, Jr.; 6 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 1 Great-Grandchild and a number of nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 9:00am-10:00 a.m. Friday , November 7, 2014 followed by a service at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. In lieu of Flowers, contributions can be made to Chattanooga Alzhimer's Association, 7625 Hamilton Park Drive, Chattanooga, TN 37421.
