

Muriel was the youngest daughter of the late George and Betty (Moore) Woody. She was also preceded in death by siblings Irene Faulkner, Clara M. Dietrick and James Woody, Chattanooga; Lucille Friel, Kalamazoo, Michigan and Stanley D. Woody, Norfolk, Virginia.
Muriel worked for 35 years as a receptionist for Brock Candy Company and became known as the Voice of Brock Candy. She retired from Brock and then worked part-time for 25 years as a hostess at Town and Country Restaurant. She loved her work with Brock Candy and Town and Country, loved life and spending time with her beloved family and friends.
She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Ricky Padgett, Signal Mountain; grandchildren, Shannon Knox, Chattanooga; Jacob and Lex Padgett, Signal Mountain; great-grandsons, Tanner and Trent Knox, Signal Mountain and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are welcome at the graveside service at 2:30 PM Thursday, August 2 at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with Pastor Sherry Layne officiating. There will be not be visitation at the Funeral Home.
The family would like to thank Memorial and Hospice of Chattanooga for their loving and excellent care of Muriel.
