Geraldine McKee Burkhart

Geraldine was born on December 3, 1943 in Ooltewah to the late Jennie Belle and Raymond McKee. She retired from State Farm Life Insurance with over 30 years of service and was the owner and operator of The Wig Palace on Ringgold Road. Geraldine was a very active member of the Old Rugged Cross Baptist Church in Ooltewah.

She was also preceded in death by her brother, Herschel McKee and a sister, Barbara McKee Leamon.

Geraldine is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, William E. “Bill” Burkhart; children, Kim Palmer Gann, Kenneth Rush “Pete” (Romona) Palmer and Landa Raquel Ledford. She leaves behind 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; brothers, Ray, David and Charles McKee and a sister, Wilma McDaniel and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 pm on Wednesday and 10 to 12 (noon) on Thursday at the North Chapel.

Services for Geraldine will be held at 12 (noon) on Thursday at the funeral home chapel with Reverend Jack Rinks officiating. Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Geraldine’s name to Old Rugged Cross Baptist Church at 8900 Bill Reed Road, Ooltewah, TN 37363.

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
