Glenda Mae Boatner Shull, at age 69, went home to be with the Lord & her heavenly family on February 25, 2015 at 1:50 PM in the afternoon while surrounded by her remaining family who loved her dearly.
Glenda was born May 29th, 1945 in Flat Rock Alabama, located in Dekalb County and was one of thirteen brothers and sisters. She lived with her husband of 26 years, Lawrence Shull whom she referred to as her soulmate in Red Bank, Tennessee.
Glenda is preceded in death by her Father and Mother, John Brady Boatner and Minnie Estelle Boatner, her brothers, John E., Lloyal, Ollie and sisters, Eva Bell, Ruby Jewell, Kathleen, and Cleo.
Glenda’s surviving brothers are John Brady Jr., Nick, and Rafe Lee. Her sisters are Marie, and Bonnie.
She was the Mother of a Son, Bradley T. Wade, and daughter, Angela Wade-Granger, step-daughter, Stephanie Shull-Trewhitt.
She’s the Grandmother of seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren in whom she loved very much, and they were a joy to her.
Glenda loved to be around family and friends. She was always there to help when needed. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time at Camp Columbus where she and her husband Lawrence have a camper. She loved fishing, and riding the grandkids around the grounds in their golf cart. Something else that was on top of her list was traveling to the Bahamas, walking on the beach, and watching the sun set over the ocean.
Her relationship with God was a priority and she wouldn’t hesitate to let anyone know that she was in love with Him. Attending White Oak Baptist Church and surrounding herself with God’s people was always a special time for her.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 8 pm on Sunday, March 1, and 11:30 am to 12:30 pm on Monday at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
Funeral services will follow at 12:30 pm on Monday at the funeral home chapel with Reverend Ed Emerson, Reverend Virgil Stone, Reverend Don Ferguson and Doctor Tony Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
Honorary and pallbearers are Vietnam Veterans Chapter 203.
Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
