Glenn Stanley Rothberger

Glenn was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee to the late Fred Walter and Florence Miller Rothberger. He was a 1945 graduate of McCallie School and attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, where he was a member of the SPE Fraternity. Glenn served in the United States Army, Artillery Division. He then became a partner in the Rothberger City Directory Company, where he retired after 40 years of service. Glenn was a longtime member of Central Presbyterian Church where he served as a deacon. He was a member of Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church and a member of the Becking Sunday School. Glenn was past President of the Signal Mountain Lions Club.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Fred and Ray Rothberger and a sister, Margaret Rothberger Lee.

Glenn is survived by his wife of 60 years, Shirley Harvey Rothberger; son, Stan Rothberger; daughter and son-in-law, Ellen Morgante and John - Paul; grandchildren, Anna Creswell, Camden, Bethany and Hailee Morgante; brother and sister-in-law, Earl Rothberger and Betty; many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6:30 pm on Friday, December 5, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

A celebration of life service for Glenn will be held at 2 pm on Saturday at Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church, 612 James Blvd., Signal Mtn., TN 37377 with Reverend Margaret Ferguson officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Glenn’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association, 7625 Hamilton Park Drive, Suite 8, Chattanooga, TN 37421 or to the American Cancer Society, 6221 Shallowford Road, Chattanooga, TN 37421.

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
