He was born in Chattanooga to the late Grover and Wilma Clingan. “Doc” was a 1967 graduate of Hixson High School. He served our country during Vietnam in the United States Army. “Doc” was a former employee with Aztec and a member of Middle Valley United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Stacie Clingan.
Wayne is survived by his children, Tracie Williams, Carlos (Carmen) Clingan, and Chris (Nicole) Clingan; 11 grandchildren, Trae, Arrington, Solomon, Olivia, Brianna, Keona, Dallas, Marcus, Tori, Liam, and Samuel; 9 great grandchildren; brother, Darrell (Julie) Clingan; sisters, Myra Uren, and Sandra (Rick) Rogers; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 11 am to 1 pm on Saturday, April 17, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
A Celebration of “Doc’s” life will follow at 1 pm on Saturday at the North Chapel with Reverend Reece Fauscett officiating.
Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
