He is preceded in death by his parents, Ples and Louiza Hamby, Sr.; brothers, William Hamby, Willard Hamby and Ples Hamby, Jr.; sisters, Dorothy Hamby and Edith Davis Hamby.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-eight years, Jacqulin “Jackie” Hamby; sisters, Yvonne (John) Elsea and Shirley May; children Doug (Jennie) Hamby, Carolyn (Jimmie) McNeal and Kathy (Stephen) Pierson; twelve grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2017 from 1 pm to 6 pm at Chattanooga Funeral Home, North Chapel.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, August 27, 2017 at 2 pm at Chattanooga Funeral Home, North Chapel with interment to follow at Chattanooga Memorial Park.
