Helen Tucker Morrow, 83, was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many. She was ushered into heaven on January 4, 2024, with her family by her side. She suffered with Alzheimer's disease and dementia.
She was a member of East Chattanooga Church of God and then Redemption Point Church of God for many years. She taught children in Sunday school for over forty years.
Your family will miss you, immensely. You were our “go-to” when life got rough, you were our sanity in this crazy world, and our comfort when we needed clarity. You were always someone we could count on, by offering up many needed prayers.
She was born to the late E. W. Tucker and the late Flora Neely Humphy. She graduated with degrees in Early Childhood Education, BS in Business and BS in Social Work.
She was married to the late Delmas R. Morrow (DR) for 65 years. Helen is survived by her four children: Karen (Leon) Potts, Janice (Rodney) Blevins, Dr. Kimberly (Art) Dorto, and Jeffrey (Dana)Morrow, all of Hixson. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Daniel, Caleb, Joshua Potts, Levi & Brody Blevins, and Even Dorto. She had five great grandchildren: Logan, Chasity, Griffin, Gage, & Grace (Potts) & Orion & Alana (Blevins). She had grand puppies she grew to love: Daisy, Lily, Sofia, Mokie, & Lucy. Even in the end of her sickness she continued to show her love for her family with her prayers.
Helen had a love for children. She loved teaching children in Sunday school at her church for many years and then at her home daycare. She also loved helping the elderly when she later became a social worker for Senior Neighbors. After retiring she spent much of her time with her friends Gracie, Sally, and Ruby. They were known as the "four praying musketeers". They used their gifts of fellowship to pray for those that needed prayer.
She was a kind and thoughtful woman of God that will be missed and remembered by the many lives that she touched. The viewing and service will be held on Saturday 13, 2024. The viewing will be 1pm and the memorial service will be at 2 pm at Redemption Point Church of God (The Point Bldg.) in Ooltewah, TN. The burial will take place following the service at Hamilton Memorial Gardens in Hixson, TN.
