Ms. Ilene Barbara Malone

October 19, 1944December 29, 2020

Ilene Barbara Malone of Hixson, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2020, surrounded by her two daughters. She was born on October 19, 1944 in Salisbury, Maryland to the late William Hastings and Barbara Wieland Kirby. Her husband, Francis J. “Bud” Malone, Jr. preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughters, Lisa Treppard and Lezley Scott; grandchildren, Jessica (Alex) Treppard Spletzer, Matthew (Morgan) Treppard, Patrick Scott, and Emily (Ken) Scott Simon; great grandchildren, Alex Spletzer, Maddox Treppard, and Jace Spletzer; brother, Wayne Hastings; sister, Bonnie (David) Kirby Wootten; nephew, David Wootten, II; niece, Caleigh Jo Wootten; step-children, Mike (Kathy) Malone and Kathy (Lee) Malone Mikles; step-grandchildren, Heather, Rebecca, Ryan, Brendan, Kristin, and Amanda; as well as her companion of many years, David Kirby. She was a retired pharmacy technician at Memorial Northpark Hospital and Access Pharmacy. She was passionate about gardening and reading. She was a great cook and enjoyed traveling. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority and enjoyed playing bunko with many of her close friends. She loved her cats. A memorial service will be 6:30 pm Saturday, May 8 at Grace Pointe Assembly of God with Pastor Terry Evans officiating. Please share your thoughts and memories at www.chattanooganorthchapel.com.

My heart is grieving the loss of a very special friend and realizing what a huge loss I now face. Anyone who had Ilene for a friend knew what a special loving, caring and kind Treasure she was. She was truly one of a kind and a blessing to all who knew her.
