Anyone who knew Jim, knew he never backed away from a fight. When he first received his diagnosis he called to tell us the news and the next thing he said was "Don't worry, I'm gonna fight this all the way." He absolutely did exactly that. He stayed with us longer than anyone thought was possible, endured more than anyone could imagine, and lived fully everyday. He fought till the very end and went out on his terms. I'm very proud of you, my friend. I'm glad you no longer have to endure the pain, the setbacks, and the uncertainty of each day. We will miss you dearly but you will stay in our hearts always and we will see you on the other side.

We grew up in the same neighborhood and went to junior high and high school together. I saw him and his wife at the 20 year reunion of Kirkman's Class of '66. Jim was always such a kind and caring person. I know his family misses him and there is such a loss for us, his friends and classmates. Rest in peace, Jim. Thank you for your sacrifice for our country.

I got to know Mr. Breneman through my job. He was always friendly even though I knew he didn't feel the best sometimes. Everyone is in my thoughts and prayers.

Jim, the 56 year friendship we shared, wasn’t long enough. I can think of a thousand things to say and hundreds of memories to recall but just to write I loved you says it best. Our recent Sunday night phone visits will always be remembered. You were weak and tired but you always knew what to say to end our conversations with a laugh. You were such a dear friend to me and knowing you increased the value of my life. Godspeed, Jim. I’ll meet you one day at Heaven’s Gate. . I love you

Jim was a great friend from Junior high on. We played football together and he was a helluva pulling guard. Jimmy and Bobby Walker were the only two guys I played with that had more front teeth knocked out than me
Prayers to his family. Doug Wolfe, fellow Golden Hawk.

Jim was my best friend and really more like a brother to me. I have known Jim since we first met and lived together in 1968. We shared many good times over the years. Jim was always there when you needed him. He will be greatly missed and I will think about him every day the rest of my life. He was a force of nature and the world will be diminished without him.
