James R. Couch, 90, of Chattanooga passed away in a local hospital, on August 18, 2021.
He was employed by Nabors Manufacturing for 37 years and went on to retire from Woodbridge Foam after 21 years of service at the age of 78.
He was preceded in death by his parents John and Myrtle Couch, his wife Sylvia Couch, sisters Jo Smith, Anna Mathis, and Kathryn Long, and his brother Gene Howard.
He is survived by his daughter Cindy (Steve) Phy, of Ringgold, GA, sons Jim (Ellen) Couch of Carriere, Mississippi, and Garry (Glenda) Couch, of Harrison, TN; 9 Grandchildren, 20 great- grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by, his brother David (Connie) Couch; sisters, Nanay (Gay) Robertson, Snookie Stephens, and Jean Earl Sherrill; many nieces and nephews; and dear friends Mike and Dot Partain, Robert Daughtery, Frankie Nicholson, and Barbara Thompson.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday August 28, 2021, in Hamilton Memorial Gardens at 10:00 AM EDT, with Brother Bill Harvey officiating.
We respectfully request that “social distancing”, wearing masks at all times, and all CDC guidelines and measures be adhered to at the cemetery.
