

James was a native of South Pittsburg, Tennessee and was a graduate of Chattanooga Central High School where he never missed a day of school. He served our country during the Korean War serving in the Marine Corps. James was a retired carpet layer and owned and operated Craze Carpet for over 60 years. He was a longtime active member of Memorial Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wiley and Alice Craze; his first wife, Patricia Ann Craze; son, Randy Craze and a daughter, Mitzi Craze.
James is survived by his wife of 28 years, Helen G. Craze; two daughters Connie Goines and her husband Jimmy and Vicki Craze Sneed; 7 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff and their nurses at Hospice of Chattanooga for the care given to Mr. Craze during his illness.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday at the North Chapel.
Services for James will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday at the North Chapel with Tom Castleman officiating. Burial will follow in National Cemetery with military honors.
