James C. Hamilton, 54, of Chattanooga passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 after a seven week battle with pneumonia.
James was retired from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department and after his retirement he went back to school and received a degree in Medical Assisting, and taught at Miller Motte Technical College.
James was a charter member of Walden’s Ridge Rescue service. He loved airplanes and was preparing for his pilot’s license exam when his health failed.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Hamilton
Survivors include his mother, Edna Knight, and several cousins in South Carolina.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM on Friday, October 1, 2010 at the North Chapel with Rev. Ken Clark, and Chaplain Jack Nichols officiating.
Interment will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 PM on Thursday, September 30, 2010 at the North Chapel.
