James "Jim" Henry

Jim was born in Soddy, Tennessee to the late Leonard and Mary Frances Penney Henry. Jim was well known for his ability to hang wallpaper and had been working in that field for over 50 years. Jim was a longtime member of Christ Family Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Dewayne Jordan; grandson, Davan Keith Jordan, siblings, Joyce, Bill and Sam and son-in-law, Russell Cummins.

Jim is survived by his wife of 37 years, Thelma Ann Henry; children, Debra Mixon, Garry (Sandy) Jordan, Larry (Dana) Jordan, Stacey Cummins and Darla (Steve Rogers) Chauncey; 11 grandchildren; 20 great- grandchildren, 9 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 9 to 11 am on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Jim’s life will follow at 11 am on Wednesday, at the North Chapel. Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
