Sonny was born on October 4, 1942 in Chattanooga, TN to James Lenol and Virginia Ruth Ledord White, Sr. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and later worked for DuPont until his retirement. Sonny married Kil Cha “Connie” on January 23, 1965 in Korea and the two shared 51 years together. He enjoyed big game hunting and fishing, watching the history channel and national geographic.
Sonny was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his loving wife, Connie; children, James Boyd White, Kim Ruth Rhymer and husband, Mark; grandchildren, Kathleen Dakota White, Haley McKenna Rhymer and Denver James Rhymer.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 6 pm on Sunday, February 14, and 10:30 to 11:30 am on Monday at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
A funeral service will follow at 11:30 a.m., Monday, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
