Mr. James W. “Tommy” Joyner, 87, of Hixson, passed away May 24, 2017. James was born in Ohio on September 2, 1929. He graduated from South Pittsburg High School. He retired as a millwright at Dupont with 36 years of service. James was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond James Joyner and Lydia Shuberg Joyner, and his brother, David Raymond Joyner. Survivors include his wife, Fannalee Joyner; son, James Joyner; daughter, Susan Jane George; son, Joseph Joyner; sister, Mary Jane Joyner; and six grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. There will be a graveside funeral service on Saturday, May 27th at 1:00 pm at Hamilton Memorial Gardens, 5351 Hwy 153, Hixson. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
